Sonic Mania Update 1.04 is now available for download on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. This update contains several gameplay changes, fixes, and new features.
Gameplay Changes
- Added support for Sonic Mania Plus.
- The homing attack can now be used while in midair.
- The player can now sprint by double tapping the control stick.
- The Light Speed Dash can now be performed by pressing down on the control stick while sprinting.
- The player can now perform a Spin Attack by pressing the attack button while in midair.
- The player can now perform a Spin Dash by holding down the control stick and pressing the attack button.
- The player can now perform a Super Peel Out by pressing the jump button while sprinting.
- The player can now perform a somersault by pressing the jump button while in midair.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the game would softlock if the player tried to enter a Special Stage while already in one.
- Fixed an issue where the game would softlock if the player tried to enter a Bonus Stage while already in one.
- Fixed an issue where the game would softlock if the player tried to enter a Blue Sphere stage while already in one.
- Fixed an issue where the game would softlock if the player tried to enter a Boss Key.
- Fixed an issue where Tails could get stuck underwater.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in a loop while using the Insta-Shield.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Bounce Attack.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Spring Jump.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Light Speed Dash.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Super Peel Out.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Spin Dash.
- Fixed an issue where Sonic could get stuck in mid-air after using the Spin Attack.
